Connor’s Wisdom Teeth Removal

I came to see Dr. Collins because I needed my wisdom teeth taken out — it was long overdue — and I heard he was the best of the best. I was nervous because I didn’t know how bad it would hurt afterwards because I’ve seen friends that would come out and be delusional, so that was my only worry, to be honest. When I got here, they assured me that everything was going to be okay. They told me everything that was going to happen. They didn’t leave any doubt in my mind — answered every question I had. The staff was real nice. When I got here, they accompanied me, asked me if I needed anything to drink, eat, just make sure I was comfortable, make sure I was ready. Dr. Collins is a great guy. He also answered any questions, sat down with me, told me what was going to go down, how it was going to be, and what he was going to do. My procedure was great, it was successful — not near as much pain as I thought — and walked away perfectly fine. I would recommend Dr. Collins to anybody. His team’s great, his staff’s great, top of the line, the best around here.

I came to see Dr. Collins because I got my wisdom teeth taken out — I had four wisdom teeth. I was a little nervous when I first came in because I didn’t know what was going on, but I had had oral surgery before, so it wasn’t too bad. They were so nice when I came, from the moment I came in. They prompted me through everything and just told me what they were going to do before they did it instead of going right straight into it. They were just really comforting and didn’t make me feel like I was getting teeth pulled out of my mouth. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but I didn’t hurt that bad afterwards. And of course, I didn’t feel anything while it was going on, but it was pretty good, I would say. My recovery was fine; I didn’t hurt that much after. The staff is so nice. I actually know a few of them personally, but again, if I didn’t know them, they are all so welcoming and so nice to everyone that comes in. I really like Dr. Collins. He knows what he’s doing, and he’s so friendly and funny, just to make it less nervous when you’re in here, but he’s a great guy. If any of my friends in Vilonia, Greenbrier, or Little Rock needed their wisdom teeth taken out, I would definitely recommend Dr. Collins.

I came to see Dr. Collins to get my wisdom teeth taken out. I was really nervous; I did not like the idea of being put to sleep or anyone cutting my teeth out. The staff was very helpful; they made me feel more relaxed, made it seem more normal than it actually is. My procedure went really well; it was not a big deal. I worked it up in my head, but it was really simple and not a big deal. My recovery was not bad at all; pretty much just some sleep, and I was good to go in a couple of days. The staff was really nice. They could tell I was scared, and they definitely worked to calm me down on that level. Dr. Collins was very nice also, knew I was scared and made sure to do whatever he could to calm me down and make sure I knew it wasn’t a big deal. I would recommend Dr. Collins. He — and all of his staff — really helped me, because I was terrified.

I came to see Dr. Collins because I was at my dentist, and obviously, my mouth was a little too small for my teeth, and so they needed to take out my wisdom teeth. When he told me that I needed my teeth extracted, I wasn’t scared at all. He’s a really good doctor, and I’ve heard great things about him, so I was very confident. The staff was so nice, and Dr. Collins was very personal; he was always smiling and told me not to be nervous. My procedure . . . I thought it was very quick. I was under, and I didn’t wake up or feel anything, and overall, it was just really good. My recovery was outstanding; I actually had a photo shoot three days after my surgery, and I wasn’t swollen at all. Dr. Collins made me feel like one of his own. He made me very confident in his work, and he followed up with me and made sure that I was feeling okay afterwards. I would recommend Dr. Collins.

I came to see Dr. Collins because my orthodontist suggested him. They’re really good friends, and I trusted my orthodontist. He did a fantastic job on my smile, and I needed my wisdom teeth removed. It was causing headaches and all sorts of other issues so when it came to choosing an oral surgeon, I chose Dr. Collins. I’ve always had issues when it came to being put to sleep. Anesthesia just kind of makes you nervous as a person, I think. When I came in to have my wisdom teeth removed, I had been put to sleep, and as soon as I woke up, I thought, “Did it even happen?” He did such a fantastic job — his staff, just making sure that I was comfortable and ready to take on the next phase of life. It’s so awesome to have friendly people that care about you, care about your recovery, and ultimately even care about your life. Dr. Collins is such a funny guy; he’s very warm, very genuine, and he cares, and I think that’s the most important thing when choosing an oral surgeon or choosing any type of doctor. You want someone that you trust and someone that you can put your faith in that’s going to take care of you. I recommend Dr. Collins; he’s a fantastic oral surgeon and a fantastic person.

I came to see Dr. Collins to get two of my permanent teeth removed. Two teeth were growing over each of my permanent teeth, so I needed them out. My procedure went really well. My recovery was good. All I had was two holes in my mouth, but it didn’t really bother me. I would say all I felt was the needle to numb my arm, and then after that, I just blinked my eyes, and I was completely out, and I felt nothing after that. The needle was not bad, and I hate needles. Yes, I would recommend Dr. Collins.

Oh, as I got older, I had teeth that were failing, teeth that had cracked. I’d lost my back teeth, so could not chew, and I had to chew on the front teeth, and that put a lot of stress on the front teeth, and they started to crack and get worn down. He explained it so thoroughly, showed me the actual product, and thought it would be very successful for me. I had all of the top teeth pulled, and so all of the top plate is . . . they’re implants. The bottom teeth, I have one implant in the back, and the rest have been capped. There wasn’t a lot of pain, so no one should be afraid of that. It went real well. The staff is just great. They are all very caring. friendly, and outgoing, and they make you feel so comfortable.
Larry Received Dental Implants

Well, it was a referral from a Little Rock dentist that referred me to Dr. Collins. I needed some extensive dental work in the form of implants — actually, I needed six of them. I was a little concerned about that, but it was time to do it, and I was prepared to do it, and so I took the leap and drove to Conway to see Dr. Collins. From day one, they take care of you; they make you feel like you’re their only patient. Dr. Collins and his staff explain to you what’s going to happen, more so than any other place you’ll go and will tell you before and after what to expect and it’s exactly that. It’s done, they send you home, Dr. Collins will call and talk to you, visit with you. Not just a follow-up courtesy call like you get when you take your car to the automobile dealership. He calls because he really cares. I would recommend Dr. Collins’ group – him, the staff, his assistants. If they would do heart surgery on me, I’d let them do that. Don’t need it, but they are that good. I know that’s a stretch, but they are that good at what they do.

Well, first it was for my wisdom teeth to be removed, and then I had to have dental implants because I had a tooth too large for the space it was going to be. I was a little nervous just to be having surgery in general, but they explained exactly what would be occurring, and they took me through each little step along the way, and they just explained it really well. Dr. Collins is really friendly; he put me at ease whenever he started explaining to me what would be happening. He came in before and just told me exactly what would happen, and he came in after to check on me. It went really well; I don’t really remember that much about it. It was just a smooth thing through the whole procedure. I had a checkup I think the week after, and so he just came in and checked to see how things were healing, and I think it looked good, so it was really quick and easy. I would definitely recommend any of my family or friends needing implants or oral surgery, through Conway or Mayflower, Vilonia, come to Dr. Collins because he’s the best.

I needed braces when I was very young, and I didn’t get them because I boxed and did karate and mixed martial arts and stuff. And when I went to college, I worked as a bouncer getting through college. And I just didn’t see the point in getting my teeth fixed. I had to have an implant, I had to have some . . . the bone graft from the lower jaw, implant in the upper jaw. I had an eyetooth missing for many years that caused my teeth to spread out on top. I consulted with him during that time, and we did the implant. Just the idea of anesthesia, somebody cutting in my mouth, makes me a little bit nervous. Dr. Collins is wonderful; he’s very personable. He is very professional, and he is a perfectionist. If I move to California, I’ll come back to have him do any kind of implants or anything like that.

In growing up, I didn’t have very good teeth, and in college, I had partials, and I wore partials until they started tearing up my real teeth. I gave up on them, threw them away. The dentist that I was going to suggested that I have the implants and told me about Mr. Collins. It was all done in one day; they extracted them, and they put in the implants. It was a pretty simple process. It’s great staff; they’ve changed a couple of them since I’ve been here, but everybody’s been really great. When I’ve had problems, I just call, and they get me in almost immediately. It really made me feel good that he was a medical certified doctor, and at the time, he worked in the hospital here in Conway, and it made me feel comfortable that he knew what he was doing. I’ve already recommended him several times and definitely his staff and the whole thing, I’ve recommended to all my friends and people that needed to have work.

Well, I had teeth that were getting bad, having bone loss in the front, and I was at my dentist talking to him what we could do, and he recommended that I come see Dr. Collins. He kind of explained the procedure, and I jumped at it. I had to have some teeth extracted — I think I had five or six teeth left on the bottom — so I didn’t have much to work with. I was nervous when I came here the first time, but Dr. Collins and his staff put me at ease by just coming in and talking to me, and they were all so very nice, so they really did put me at ease. The All-on-4® that I have in, I love it because it does not have to come out; it’s in there permanent. I would recommend Dr. Collins to anybody that needs any kind of dental work like this done, especially this procedure right here. I would recommend him highly.

I was referred to Dr. Collins by Dr. Clark in Pine Bluff. I had some posts in my mouth, and they kept breaking off, so he recommended I come on and get the other teeth extracted and go ahead and get the implants done. Well, he told me that the All-on-4® would probably be the best because if we just did individual teeth, then we would end up, at some point, having to do the other ones. So we just went on and extracted those at that point and did the All-on-4®. Excellent staff . . . excellent staff, and I’ve received excellent treatment from Dr. Collins. He’s a very hands-on type of person, really talks you through the processes. And he’s very qualified. I have recommended him to several people already. Whether they’ve been here yet or not, I don’t know, but I highly recommend him. It’s immeasurable; I can eat without any kind of difficulty, and that’s the real purpose of it.

I was born with not very many teeth, and when my baby teeth would come out, I would not have any teeth grown in, so I’ve worn partials ever since I was in fifth grade. And then I got a recommendation from my dentist in Russellville to call Dr. Collins. They told me that day that I would come in with teeth and come out with teeth. During surgery, they pulled all of my teeth — all of them — and they implanted screws in my mouth, and — these plates right here — and they attach to the screws, I guess you could say, and I came out and I had teeth in my mouth. They also did some bone grafting; they took some of my bone from my jaw to make it the right size jaw because before, I didn’t have a normal size jaw. I woke up, and it was just amazing what I saw. They are just a great team and doctor that I would recommend to anybody.
Katie Had Jaw Surgery and Got Her Wisdom Teeth Removed

As I became older and as a high school student, it was time to get those wisdom teeth removed. Not exactly everyone’s favorite procedure to think about, but one for me that was seamless and had no issues with. The comfort level that I established with Dr. Collins and his staff from that initial visit is what has kept me returning to the office. I sought out many physicians initially when it came to having corrective jaw surgery, and each time I possibly met with someone else, I just didn’t feel at ease. I wasn’t sure that it was the right fit for me. And walking in and working with Dr. Collins, all of those fears and anxiety, they were lifted. My third procedure with Dr. Collins was actually some gum lasering, and that helped to give a little bit more initial tooth structure exposure and help to make me feel that much more confident. They get the job done, and I’m thrilled to say that I am a three-time patient and would come back again if anything else needed to be done.

I’d had . . . really had a bad overbite ever since birth and just always real disappointed with my smile and lacked confidence because of it. I’d actually been to see him about 10 years prior, to the point when I came to see him the second time, and at that time, they were going to have to wire my jaws. Totally did not want to do that. And when I came back the second time, they had a different procedure they could do where they didn’t have to do that, so that excited me and I went ahead with the procedure. They did break both of my jaws, got rid of the bad overbite that I’d had all my life. And the other part of it was just . . . gave me basically a completely new set of teeth, a beautiful smile, which I’d never had before. Dr. Collins and his staff — I don’t think you could ask for anybody better. I certainly would recommend him to anyone one hundred percent.

I came to see Dr. Collins because I was having lots of problems with my jaws and pain in my jaws and a really, really bad overbite. And then I even had a small blip on my nose that I wanted fixed at the time as well. And so I came to see Dr. Collins because I heard he was the best and could really help. When I first came and visited with Dr. Collins and found out that he was both board certified and a medical physician, that made my decision. And then just the way in which he spoke to me and made me feel a part of the process and a part of the procedure, what it was all going to entail, sold me on him being my surgeon. And he told me about his education and why he does what he does and explained the whole process to me, and it totally put me at ease and made me feel more comfortable. Dr. Collins basically broke my upper and lower jaw and reset them and realigned them and then wired them shut for the recovery process. I also wore orthodontics prior to the surgery and then for a little white after surgery as well. I would completely recommend Dr. Collins.

Dr. Collins and his staff do an excellent job with the patients that we send. We can always have full confidence in Dr. Collins to do the very best treatment. Typical cases that we refer would be simple extractions, surgical extractions, implant cases. Dr. Collins is great at any time there’s a question in treatment, he’ll pick up the phone, he’ll give me a call, we can discuss the situation, and that way, we’re on the same page when we know the ultimate treatment plan. Patients benefit because, sometimes, if there’s any sort of miscommunication between offices, the treatment plan may not go accordingly. So, any time you have doctors that are talking, it’s always a good thing. The patients, when they come back from Dr. Collins’ office always have a great experience, always comment on how professional the staff was and how good Dr. Collins is. I’ve known Dr. Collins for many years, and from my experience, he’s a great guy but an exceptional oral surgeon. Yes, we’re going to be referring patients here for many years to come.

Well, Dr. Collins and I have had a very nice and collegial personal and professional relationship since I arrived here in Conway in 2001. I immediately recognized Dr. Collins to have excellent skills within the realm of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Plus the fact that Dr. Collins has a medical doctor degree makes it very easy to communicate with him about a whole realm of associated issues we often see with our patients. When I’ve referred patients to Dr. Collins in the past, I’ve always received excellent feedback. Again, Mitch’s staff is very professional; in fact, ideal the type of staff you’d want to have. Dr. Collins is very easy to talk with; he’s got a gregarious personality, and his command of knowledge within the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery is second to none. Nothing but good things to say about Mitch’s bedside manner and communication skills, as well as his technical expertise and knowledge within his realm of surgery.

I’ve known Dr. Collins for a long, long time. He’s been my chief referral source I guess since I started practice, from simple one tooth replacements to any other complex case, and also referral of wisdom teeth extractions or any other type of surgery. The trust is pretty simple with Dr. Collins. He’s actually done two implants on me, and so, therefore, that’s the ultimate trust. And he’s also taken the wisdom teeth out of my children, and he’s just my go-to guy for whatever I need done. Typically a great experience; I never have had anyone complain about any procedure or any other treatment that Dr. Collins has ever done, and that’s a lot of people that have come through to see Dr. Collins. I always will have that relationship with Dr. Collins about referring to him because I think he is at the apex of clinical care.

I’ve known Dr. Collins for over 20 years, and he and I have had a great working relationship. He’s a great individual; I know that the patients that I’ve sent here, which I have sent several over those years, and complaints just don’t happen. So I’ve really enjoyed working with him, and my patients enjoy coming here. We see a variety of cases that Dr. Collins and I work together on, a lot of implant cases. He’s very skilled in the placement of implants, and as a restorative dentist, that’s critical. We know that when we refer a patient that Dr. Collins is going to place that implant properly and that I’m going to get a good result. Dr. Collins and I communicate well, whether it’s by phone, whether it’s by email. The team approach there, the way we mirror each other, and the way our practices are run, I know that it’s going to be a good result. When I’m looking at someone who has other than just a dental problem, per se, I know that when Dr. Collins looks at them, he’s not only looking at them from a dental standpoint, but he’s looking at their medical history also, and from that side of it, I know they’re getting good care.

Well, I’ve known Dr. Collins since he came to Conway. He was one of the . . . probably the first, maybe the second oral surgeon that actually had a boots-on-the-ground practice in Conway. I know that if I refer to him, the patient’s going to be taken care of; I don’t have to worry about the after-hours effects that quite often someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing happens with. He’s very good, his staff is very good. Never had a problem. Everything from a simple extraction to the compound fractures of the mandible, compound fractures of the maxilla, removing wisdom teeth. He has at one time been a maxillofacial…where he actually did facial reconstruction; I’ve used him for that also. So it’s a broad spectrum of things that I’ve used him for. He’s always had the utmost in professionalism, and he always . . . I have his cell number if something is wrong. Being in surgery, being in dentistry, that’s why they call it an art rather than a science because things can go wrong. But he’s always been able to correct those things, and I really appreciate that level of high professionalism that he has.

Dr. Collins and I developed a relationship in our college years and throughout dental school. We reconnected and really found the relationship to be beneficial, I believe, for both of us. We mainly worked on implant cases, not your normal, routine implant cases, but things that required quite a bit of thought and quite a bit of treatment planning. The team-based approach that we used was really one that centered around communication, and that’s what made it such a good team unit between Dr. Collins and myself. By Dr. Collins opening his self up to my suggestions and the communication going both ways, I think we were better able to tackle these difficult cases. When patients would come back to my office after visiting Dr. Collins’ office, the one thing that was a common denominator was they always appreciated how well the staff, and ultimately Dr. Collins, took care of them. So it was always just reassuring to me that, when you’re referring someone out, they’re going to the right place.

Well, I met Dr. Collins when he first moved here and personality-wise just immediately connected with him. Implant cases would be the majority of that — the type of cases that I refer to Dr. Collins. Single implant type cases, pretty straightforward, or maybe multiple crowns, bridge — that would be the most common type of case that I see with Dr. Collins. I get implant cases from various oral surgeons and other doctors; he is by far the best that I’ve used, and I’ve been in implant dentistry since the early 80s. You can find good surgeons, sometimes, but it’s hard to find somebody that actually has a personality and actually relates to people and cares, and Dr. Collins has got both of that. With his medical background as well as dental background, he’s got some education that most doctors just don’t have. Very accessible, bend over backwards for you, does it with a smile — the whole staff does; the whole staff works very well. I know that he works at it very hard. I know he lives and breathes his practice, and I just feel very comfortable sending any of my family or anybody else to Dr. Collins anytime. He’s a great guy.

I refer patients to Dr. Collins because I know they’re going to be treated well, I know that the work’s going to be done well and that I’ll get back something that I can work with. I refer Dr. Collins implant cases and wisdom teeth extractions on a regular basis. When my patients get back from Dr. Collins’ office, they’re always raving about the staff and how well they were treated. They just love it. When I refer a case to Dr. Collins, I’ll send a letter over with my thoughts about the case, and then Dr. Collins, after seeing the patient, will get back with me, and we’ll discuss the case to decide what’s best for the patient. Dr. Collins is also a medical doctor on top of being a DDS and is board certified in oral surgery, which means that we’re getting the very best care possible. Dr. Collins is really a great guy; he’s genuine, he’s intelligent, he’s a hardworking guy, and you can count on him to do his best for you. I refer my patients to Dr. Collins because he’s a very meticulous oral surgeon. I typically send a lot of implant cases to Dr. Collins because of the result that he gives me. He makes it just very easy to restore the implant that he’s done. Him being a medical doctor as well also helps because he can manage patients that are more medically compromised that I don’t feel comfortable treating in my practice. I think a strong partnership together really helps our patients build trust with each other and trust in me that I’m sending them to somebody that’s going to take really good care of them. When my patients come back from Dr. Collins, they always tell me that it’s been a really great experience and that everything went really, really well. And so that builds a lot of confidence with me to refer to him patients. Dr. Collins has really been one of my go-to doctors or oral surgeons to refer to in Conway.

I’ve referred to Dr. Collins since he’s been in Conway for about 18 years. He is an excellent oral surgeon. He’s so good at complicated cases; anything that is medically involved or complicated, he just handles and makes it easy. I send Dr. Collins cases, and we work on them kind of as a team. It is a case of that he looks at it, he’ll give me suggestions, he’ll ask my opinion, I’ll tell him things that I need that I can’t do by myself, and he always ends up giving me something that, “Ooh! I wish I’d thought of that.” He can do no wrong. Everyone in his office is a sweetheart. They’ve called, they’ve checked; there’s nothing that I could do better than he hadn’t already done, although I’d like to try.
